Cindy (plant breeder) says the virus will not be transferred by insects to healthy plants this growing season - the virus if transferred, will show up next season.

dahlia check

Monday 4 Sept checked the plants and after consulting with Gill Thurlow did the following:
  • nipped the growing tips out of the dahlias to encourage bushiness and strength
  • 'alfonso' developing flower buds - removed
  • leaf discolouration may have been earlier insect damage
  • institute a fortnightly spray programme
  • lemon scented geranium have strong root development, will pot up on Thursday
  • pelargonums are developing flowers
